The series Awkwafina is Nora from Queens is a fictionalised version of Awkwafina in her early days as an entertainer. In the series, she plays Nora Lin (her real name is Nora Lum). She’s a twenty something who lives in Queens and wants more out of life. 

However, she isn’t quite sure how to get it. Further, the show delves into her character’s relationships with her father, Wally (BD Wong), and her grandmother, who’s only ever referred to as “Grandma” (Lori Tan Chinn) in the series.

Will there be season 3 of Awkwafina is Nora from Queens?

Recently, there was a rumour spreading in the web world that season 3 of the series will premiere on October 12, 2022. However, as of July 14, there have been no formal announcements about the renewal of the show. 

The show averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 301,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Though compared to season 1, the ratings for the second season have been pretty low, there’s still a good chance of it’s renewal. There are a few cliffhangers that need to be resolved. So, we can expect a season 3 of the series soon.

The official star cast list has not been revealed by the makers yet. Hence, we do not know who all are going to be featured in the third edition. However, we expect the return of almost all the cast members. New faces may be seen as well. 

The show is led by Awkwafina as a fictionalized version of herself named Nora Lin. Lori Tan Chinn also stars as Nora’s grandma, and BD Wong plays Nora’s father, Wally. The series’ other recurring cast members include Chrissie Fit, who plays Nora’s best friend, Melanie, “Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang as Nora’s cousin. Awkwafina is Nora from Queens season 3 release date: When’s it scheduled to premiere?

Comedy Central is yet to renew Awkwafina is Nora from Queens for Season 3. If it is renewed, then it might take five or six months to premiere. 

Awkwafina is Nora from Queens Season 2 was announced in January 2020. However, the production was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming finally began in March 2021, and the series premiered after five months on August 18, 2021. Therefore, if Season 3 is announced within a few months, we can expect the drama to come on air at the end of 2022. But again, these are just speculations and we need to wait until official announcements are made. Stay tuned!

The series follows Nora’s monotonous life as she is trying hard to build a career in the entertainment industry. Apart from that, the story also focuses on her grandmother and father. These three characters mainly cover the entire story. 

Although there are some more characters that appear occasionally or make guest appearances, the plot revolves around these three. Both critics and audiences alike have fallen in love with the show (via Rotten Tomatoes). On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 81% and a Tomatometer rating of 77%. While on  Metacritic, the film has earned an average score of 90 out of 100. On IMDb, the series scored an outstanding rating of 7.3 out of 10. 

The show received good reviews as well. For instance, in their review of the series, Melanie McFarland of Salon wrote, “Like Awkwafina herself, the show’s charm and warm humor smoothly carry it, and its star channels both of those qualities into every moment, whether she’s being rowdy, dirty, or introspective.”
