What to expect from the plot of Branded season two?
McCord is confronted by a newspaper reporter (Claude Akins) in the pilot episode “The Vindicator,” who wants to follow up on the Bitter Creek atrocity. McCord won’t cooperate. He is aware that McCord’s mentor, General James Reed, went to Bitter Creek to meet with representatives of the Cheyenne nation while on a peace mission. An Indian gang, the Dog Soldiers, attacked his unit of 31 men. The old general had lost his senses, McCord realized during the assault. It was already too late when McCord took over command. The only survivor of the battle, McCord, was injured and left for dead. After the attack, he spent 10 days in a coma. McCord later faced a desertion charge and was found guilty in court.
