As aforesaid, the chances of Chaos Walking part 2 airing seem next to impossible at the moment. Considering part 1 of the film aired in 2021 after a delay of almost 4 years (due to the pandemic), part 2 of Chaos Walking is far away from now.

What to expect from the plot of Chaos Walking 2?
If the sequel for Chaos Walking Two happens, what can fans expect from the storyline? Chaos Walking is based on Ness’ first novel. The Knife of Never Letting Go. As per the adaptation, Daisy Ridley (Viola) survives. The second wave of colonists arrives safely. The fate of Mads Mikkelsen’s villain is left dangling.
Titled The Ask & The Answer, book 2 sees Todd and Viola on separate paths, to begin with. Todd is forced to work alongside Davy Prentiss Jr. He is forced to drive the enslaved Spackle in New Prentisstown (formerly Haven). Meanwhile, Viola joins up with a resistance movement called The Answer.
Responding to this new threat, Mayor Prentiss forms The Ask. Thus, recruiting Todd and Davy to his new team. By controlling the noise, Todd is able to momentarily get the better of Prentiss in the climactic scene. But their feud is put on hold as war breaks out with the Spackle, leading into book 3.
Why was Chaos Walking Cancelled?
Even before Chaos Walking was released, the signs for a sequel were far from promising. As per Screenrant, “News of extensive reshoots emerged in 2018. Ridley and Holland were both required to return. Fede Alvarez recruited the original director. Doug Liman, to film the additional material in 2019. Reports at the time claimed Lionsgate was less than impressed with the early cut and hoped Chaos Walking could still be salvaged.”
Further, Chaos Walking’s distribution strategy gives off some idea of how Lionsgate felt about the film after the reshoots. Despite an initial COVID delay from January to March, there was no simultaneous VOD or streaming release. Plus, no attempt to wait a few more months. Unlike the vast majority of releases over the past 12 months, Chaos Walking was effectively dumped into theaters. Consequently, suggesting the project had already been written off. The box office has been poor, as expected, but reviews haven’t been kind either.
