Here is all the information you need about the first season of Star Wars: Andor, including the premiere date, cast, plot, trailer, plotline, and more.

Star Wars: Andor – all about the series

Andor has been developing for a very long period. Disney and Lucasfilm first made the announcement about it in 2018, and Stephen Schiff was named the showrunner. Following some changes, Tony Gilroy, who also co-wrote the script for Rogue One, took Schiff’s place on the program. After being delayed by the global epidemic, the program finally began filming in November 2020 at Pinewood Studios in the UK. There were various location shootings, including at a quarries in Derbyshire and Dorset, an oil refinery in Essex, a dam in Oban, Scotland, and a dam. The final day of principal photography was in September 2021.

Star Wars: Andor season 1 release date

After a double-length premiere on September 21, Andor will be available to stream on Disney+ every week for the first 12 episodes of the season.  The production of the last, second season, which has already been confirmed, will begin in November 2022. The release of Andor was initially set for August 31 but was postponed (likely to give She-Hulk, another significant franchise release for Disney, some extra time).

What is the storyline of Star Wars: Andor?

The storyline of Star Wars: Andor revolves around a thief and scavenger whose home planet, Kenari, was considered uninhabitable. The series begins with Andor exploring how he becomes “the most passionate person who’s going to give themselves to save the galaxy” in Rogue One.

What is the expected plot of Star Wars: Andor?

The second 12-episode season of Andor will tell the story of what happened to Cassian Andor and the Rebels in the four years that followed. Gilroy has spoken extensively to Empire Magazine about the two-season structure of Andor. The first season will follow a year in Star Wars history, and each year will take up a 3-episode block in season 2.

Andor is a cynic at first, but as he becomes entangled in a larger plot that causes the Rebellion to rise, he transforms into a revolutionary and the Rebels’ go-to agent for dirty work. He chose to kill an informant in cold blood rather than being apprehended and handed over to the enemy, as we saw in Rogue One.

As a result, he turns into an agent akin to James Bond, but without the cool. In fact, Star Wars: Andor has been compared to a spy thriller, and Diego Luna has stated that the film is about a migrant trying to find his place in society, which is a very true theme.

Star Wars: Andor Expected Cast: Who will be in it?

Skarsgrd stated that Forest Whitaker, who reprises his role as Saw Gerrera from Rogue One, will appear in at least one scene with Luthen together with Luna and O’Reilly.

Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and seasoned Irish actress Fiona Shaw are among the other actresses involved. She is heard saying off-camera at the end of the film, “that’s the sound of a reckoning.”
